Bring on the weekend!
by Doctor K on Oct.03, 2008, under Shows
Yeah it’s Friday again, the weekend is so close I can taste it. It’s gonna be a good weekend in Melbourne, lots of pleasant spring weather… and a Nitidus rock show to cap it off.
In case you hadn’t heard, Nitidus are heading to The Espy this Sunday for Con Batz’s Rock in the City along with our friends Exile, Crimson Face and other talented Melbourne bands. You’re in for a treat, but don’t come expecting a regular Nitidus show. We’re gonna shake things up a bit on Sunday just for fun, because fun is what it’s all about.
Once again, Adam will step up to the mic as he did so well at the Ding Dong. We’ve also got a special guest joining us on stage too. We had a rehearsal with our guest earlier this week and it was sounding pretty sweet, so we’re very excited to see what happens on the night.
PC couldn’t make it back from New Zealand for the show this time, but if you would like to see PC back on stage with Marki, Adam and Doctor K, then head on over to the shop and buy some sweet Nitidus swag. All proceeds go towards the “Fly PC’s ass to Melbourne” fund.
Hope to see you on Sunday. We’ll be there from 6pm, come and join us for a drink before the show.
Don’t forget to let your friends know (it’s easy, just use the buttons below).
Rock in the City: Sunday 5th October
by Doctor K on Sep.17, 2008, under Shows
Thanks to all who came to the Ding Dong Lounge last week at such short notice for our warm up show. Now it’s time for the main event!
Thanks to Live Bat Promotions, Nitidus will headline Rock in the City on Sunday 5th October, along with some some absolute gems of Melbourne rock: Exile, Cast & Crew, Lost Angels and Crimson Face. If hearing 5 of the most rockin’ independent bands sounds like a good night, then you need to get your crew to The Espy Basement at 6:15pm. At just $5 entry, you won’t find more bang for your buck anywhere else in town.
Everyone is invited to this party, so we need you to get the word out. Grab the poster (below) and slap it on your Myspace. Share this article with your Facebook contacts. Tell your friends to come along. Blog it, share it, post it, shout it, you know what to do.
Warm up show at The Ding Dong Lounge
by Doctor K on Sep.10, 2008, under Shows
For the first time in months, Nitidus will appear on stage tonight (Wednesday 10th September) at the Ding Dong Lounge, one of the hottest indie rock venues in Melbourne! The boys have been itching to crank up the amps again for you all and couldn’t wait any longer… hell, rock and roll is meant to be spontaneous! If you’re in town tonight, head to Market Lane before 10pm to catch Adam, Marki and me Doctor K for a special warm up show. We couldn’t secure a plane ticket in time, so PC will be there in spirit, but we’re gonna have a blast anyway. Check out last.fm for details.
Don’t worry, we’ve got more shows coming, so make sure you’re subscribed to get all the updates. We’re also taking donations for the “fly PC back from New Zealand” fund, so head over to the shop and get some cool swag for a worthy cause.
We’re on TV this Tuesday! (and Thursday and Saturday)
by Doctor K on Mar.31, 2008, under Press
Do you remember just over a month ago when we played a kick-ass rock show at Musicland in Fawkner? You may also remember that there were a bunch of fellas roaming around the venue that night with large video cameras and the words “Asylum TV” printed on their black t-shirts?
Well then, you’ll be excited to know that we just got word from the good folks at Asylum TV that they’ll be airing another episode this week, and this time it will feature that infamous performance from that fateful night. Here’s a quote from their comment post on our Myspace:
Nitidus
You are on Asylum tv Tuesday 2nd April 11pm Repeats Thurs 12:30 am and Sat 12 midnight all in the same week …..
This comment was posted on Wednesday March 26 2008 at 3:15 PM (OK, so I’ve been a little busy this week and haven’t checked the Myspace in a few days, sue me!). I’m sure you all noticed this by now… as I’m sure you all noticed that April 2nd is actually a Wednesday. So, what day should you tune in? Fret not kiddies, for thanks to the power of the internet, I have solved this dilema for you. According to YourTV.com.au, Asylum TV will be aired on Tuesday 1st April at 11pm AEST. Hooray!
So if you live in or near Melbourne or Geelong, be sure to tune in to Channel 31 on Tuesday night for some Nitidus action! Of course you can also tune in Thursday night or Saturday night… so you can’t miss it!
Hope you all enjoy the show, and you can tell the world what you think by posting a comment here at the Nitidus Blog.
Photos from Ferntree Gully

If you haven’t checked our Flickr group lately, here are a few photos from the last Nitidus rock show. This was a sold out show at the Ferntree Gully Hotel supporting two Australian rock icons: Noiseworks and the Choirboys.
I’m sure I saw a few other cameras out there that night, so if you have pictures, we’d love you to share your shots on our Flickr group (every photographer should have a Flickr account these days!).
For those of you that came to the show, we hope you enjoyed the spectacle. It was certainly an eventful evening filled with some great performances by all the bands along with a few disasters… but more on that another time (I’m still too tired and angry to go into that now… and yes I know it has been 4 days already!).
