So long! Nitidus on indefinite hiatus.
by Doctor K on Jun.01, 2009, under News
It has been a long time coming, but today we’re officially announcing that Nitidus is on indefinite hiatus and will no longer be performing in the foreseeable future. To paraphrase Billy Gould at the break up of Faith No More in 1998, The decision among the members is mutual, and there will be no pointing of fingers, no naming of names, other than stating, for the record, that ‘PC started it’.
🙂
Early in 2008, lead singer Patrick “PC” Clemenger made the hard decision to move back to New Zealand to start a family, while Nitidus continued to perform around Melbourne as a three-piece with Marki, Adam and myself (Doc). The four of us reunited once more in February 2009 for the A.R.E.A. 9 festival in New Zealand, where we had an absolute blast. We had great creative chemistry, despite not having played together in almost a year. When the three of us inevitably returned to Australia, we no longer wanted to continue as Nitidus without founding member PC on the mic. As a three piece, we feel that the band has changed significantly, and so it was agreed to hang up the Nitidus name.
We’d like to thank everyone who has supported us over the years, we couldn’t have come this far without you. We hope you will continue to support us in our next endeavours, but more on that soon.
PC, Marki, Adam and Doc remain on good terms and continue to be active musicians. You haven’t seen the last of us, so make sure you’re subscribed to this blog for news in the near future.
So long… for now.

Vote on Triple M’s Unsigned Find
by Doctor K on Apr.17, 2009, under Radio, Street Team
Firstly, congratulations to HR King for winning the Perisher Launch Your Band Australian music competition for his song Fearless. Of course that also means that Nitidus didn’t win unfortunately… but for every door that closes, another opens and once more we put the call out to you awesome people to flex your voting power.
Adam has entered some Nitidus tracks to Triple M’s Unsigned Find competition (cheers Adz!). The competition is run via the social networking website OurStage and, as of this writing, The Taste is sitting at 317th in the competition. You guys can help change that and potentially win some cash in return. Here’s how to enter (taken from the website):
- Create a free OurStage account.
- From April 1, start judging in the Triple M Unsigned Find channel.
- You’ll automatically be entered to win $5,000! Each vote = 1 entry into the draw.

Ruby’s on Easter Saturday
by Doctor K on Apr.04, 2009, under Shows
Thanks to everyone who came out to the Creech comeback show, was an awesome night and great to see so many friends once again. Props to DLG and The Humanz… and big props to Taz, great to see ya back on the mic after defeating the cancer, you’re an inspiration!
Also, it seems that some of you are heading to Ruby’s tonight. It’s gonna be a great night of Australia’s finest new hip hop talents with Hills Hip-Hop, but I hope you come down next Saturday as well when Adam, Marki and myself will be rocking out with the mighty Dusted Orange. See you there on Easter Saturday!
(Apologies for any confusion)

by Doctor K on Mar.20, 2009, under Shows
They’re baaaaack!

After winning his fight with cancer, lead singer Taz is back on stage again with the pure rock mayhem that is CREECH! This celebration of life, triumph and rock n’ roll will also feature DLG, Nitidus (Adam, Marki and Doc) and The Humanz. Get down to the Northcote Social Club (301 High Street, Northcote) at 8:30pm on April 3rd for all the action. Only $10 at the door, and 10% of Creech earnings from the night will be donated to the Cancer Council, so not only will you be supporting local talent, but donating to a good cause.
Spread the word, and we’ll see you at the show!
