Nitidus support the Hoodoo Gurus!

by on Jan.29, 2009, under Shows

What’s my scene? The Sandbelt Hotel in Moorabbin will be my scene when we open up the show for the one and only Hoodoo Gurus!  This is your chance to see one of Australia’s greatest legends in rock history… as well as the Hoodoo Gurus.

Hoodoo Gurus

The Hoodoo Gurus are certainly one of those classic Australian rock bands you’ve just got to check out.  Our roadie Darren, a.k.a. Pecka (if you’ve been to our shows, you’ll know who Pecka is) told me that he’d seen the Hoodoo Gurus recently and they have one of the most rocking live shows he has ever seen… and Pecka has seen more than a few!

So take it from our roadie, this is a show you’ll want to see!

It’s all happening on Thursday 12th February from 7:30pm at the corner of South & Bignell Roads, Moorabbin.  This is an over 18s show, so you will need photo ID at the door.

Tickets are available for just $22 (plus postage), which also entitles you to 10% off any main meal at the Sandbelt Hotel Bistro.  To put it mathematically: dinner + show = a perfect pre-valentines night out!  I always knew my grade 2 maths would come in handy one day.

So what are you waiting for?  Get your tickets right now by clicking the button below.

[EDIT: ticket sales now closed, ‘Add to Cart’ button has been removed]

Thanks for supporting Australian rock, and we’ll see you at the show.  Don’t forget to add it to your calendar.

Chill out with us on Australia Day Eve

by on Jan.23, 2009, under Shows

We may be jetting off to New Zealand in about a week, but we’re not leaving before getting live and loud for Australia Day!

Actually we’ll be more ‘chilled out’ than ‘loud’, as we’re playing a special unplugged acoustic show at the Three Crowns Hotel on Sunday 25th January, a.k.a. Australia Day Eve.  The weather bureau shows it could be a hot night, so it’s a perfect time to show your green and gold and sink a few tinnies with the three of us (Adam, Marki and Doctor K).  In the spirit of the occasion, we’ll be belting out nothing but Australian music, so expect to hear plenty of Cold Chisel, Hoodoo Gurus, Billy Thorpe, Nitidus (hey, we’re Australian too!) and many more timeless pub classics.

Show starts at 9pm, so come down and croon with us.  Check out the full details on and be sure to add it to your calendar.

We’re going to NZ!

by on Jan.19, 2009, under Shows

It’s 2009 so we thought it was time to do something big.  Nitidus will be making a rare once-in-a-lifetime performance at this year’s A.R.E.A 9 festival in New Zealand, the land where it all began!

Here’s the low down from the A.R.E.A 9 Myspace:

A.R.E.A. 9 Festival poster A.R.E.A 9 Music Festival will be held Waitangi weekend (6-8 Feb) 2009. It will feature some of New Zealand’s top musicians and entertainment personalities, as well as featuring some of New Zealand’s favourite extreme sports. Here at A.R.E.A 9 we are proud kiwis and want to celebrate our great New Zealand lifestyle but also want to contribute to the preservation of one of New Zealand’s rarest birds, the Black Stilt. Held “somewhere” in the heart of the MacKenzie Country, South Canterbury A.R.E.A 9 is preparing to be a festival that kiwis will look forward to and embrace with extreme dedication. So watch this space for more info as we create an event not to live without.

Marki, Doctor K, Adam and PC will reunite on stage at 4:30am on Saturday 7th February 2009. We’re super excited and can’t wait to meet all our kiwi fans there.

Early bird tickets have already sold out, but tickets are still on sale for $200 plus booking fee.  48 hours of non-stop music at picturesque Lake Ohau, it’s certainly going to be a weekend to remember!

A.R.E.A 9 is presented by the The Mission Controlled Events Company Ltd.

Bring on the weekend!

by on Oct.03, 2008, under Shows

Yeah it’s Friday again, the weekend is so close I can taste it.  It’s gonna be a good weekend in Melbourne, lots of pleasant spring weather… and a Nitidus rock show to cap it off.

In case you hadn’t heard, Nitidus are heading to The Espy this Sunday for Con Batz’s Rock in the City along with our friends Exile, Crimson Face and other talented Melbourne bands. You’re in for a treat, but don’t come expecting a regular Nitidus show. We’re gonna shake things up a bit on Sunday just for fun, because fun is what it’s all about.

Once again, Adam will step up to the mic as he did so well at the Ding Dong.  We’ve also got a special guest joining us on stage too.  We had a rehearsal with our guest earlier this week and it was sounding pretty sweet, so we’re very excited to see what happens on the night.

PC couldn’t make it back from New Zealand for the show this time, but if you would like to see PC back on stage with Marki, Adam and Doctor K, then head on over to the shop and buy some sweet Nitidus swag. All proceeds go towards the “Fly PC’s ass to Melbourne” fund.

Hope to see you on Sunday.  We’ll be there from 6pm, come and join us for a drink before the show.

Don’t forget to let your friends know (it’s easy, just use the buttons below).

Rock in the City: Sunday 5th October

by on Sep.17, 2008, under Shows

Rock in the City poster Thanks to all who came to the Ding Dong Lounge last week at such short notice for our warm up show.  Now it’s time for the main event!

Thanks to Live Bat Promotions, Nitidus will headline Rock in the City on Sunday 5th October, along with some some absolute gems of Melbourne rock: Exile, Cast & Crew, Lost Angels and Crimson Face.  If hearing 5 of the most rockin’ independent bands sounds like a good night, then you need to get your crew to The Espy Basement at 6:15pm.  At just $5 entry, you won’t find more bang for your buck anywhere else in town.

Everyone is invited to this party, so we need you to get the word out.  Grab the poster (below) and slap it on your Myspace.  Share this article with your Facebook contacts.  Tell your friends to come along.  Blog it, share it, post it, shout it, you know what to do.

Warm up show at The Ding Dong Lounge

by on Sep.10, 2008, under Shows

For the first time in months, Nitidus will appear on stage tonight (Wednesday 10th September) at the Ding Dong Lounge, one of the hottest indie rock venues in Melbourne! The boys have been itching to crank up the amps again for you all and couldn’t wait any longer… hell, rock and roll is meant to be spontaneous! If you’re in town tonight, head to Market Lane before 10pm to catch Adam, Marki and me Doctor K for a special warm up show. We couldn’t secure a plane ticket in time, so PC will be there in spirit, but we’re gonna have a blast anyway. Check out for details.

Don’t worry, we’ve got more shows coming, so make sure you’re subscribed to get all the updates. We’re also taking donations for the “fly PC back from New Zealand” fund, so head over to the shop and get some cool swag for a worthy cause.

Photos from Ferntree Gully

by on Mar.05, 2008, under Shows, Web Stuff

If you haven’t checked our Flickr group lately, here are a few photos from the last Nitidus rock show. This was a sold out show at the Ferntree Gully Hotel supporting two Australian rock icons: Noiseworks and the Choirboys.

I’m sure I saw a few other cameras out there that night, so if you have pictures, we’d love you to share your shots on our Flickr group (every photographer should have a Flickr account these days!).

For those of you that came to the show, we hope you enjoyed the spectacle.  It was certainly an eventful evening filled with some great performances by all the bands along with a few disasters… but more on that another time (I’m still too tired and angry to go into that now… and yes I know it has been 4 days already!).
