PBS 106.7fm

If you’re in Melbourne, fire up your trusty ol’ FM radio and tune into Shock Treatment, Wednesday nights on PBS 106.7fm.  Your host Kev Lobotomi cranks out the local rock from 8pm til 10pm, including the occasional Nitidus track (if you want more, ya gotta request it).

For 25 years, PBS-FM has been a beacon of independent, freeform, passionate, real and unpretentious radio. PBS is a champion of specialist and under-represented music and is proudly non-corporate, anti-fashion and wanker-free.

Nitidus are proud members of PBS 106.7fm, so show ’em some love.

We’re one of Commercial Radio Australia’s top 30 acts!

by on Oct.15, 2008, under Radio

Somehow amongst all the chaos, this juicy little bit of news slipped past my radar until now.  Nitidus was recently judged to be one of the top 30 acts by Commercial Radio Australia in their New Artists to Radio initiative.

New Artists to Radio

New Artists to Radio

Judging was done by music directors from Austereo, DMG, Australian Radio Network and Southern Cross Media.  Apparently they thought our entry was “of excellent quality” and were very impressed with the tracks.  We’re pretty happy to be considered one of the top 30 acts by the heavy weights of Australia radio… especially since we’ve been shunned by the commercial stations many times before.  Not that we’re bitter.

New Artists 2 Radio (NA2R) is an initiative of Commercial Radio Australia – the industry body for Australia’s 260 commercial radio stations.  It’s one of the ways in which the commercial radio sector helps to nurture and support Australian musical talent. If you’re in an unsigned independent Australian band or solo artist, check out their website for details on how to enter your music into NA2R.

Bring on the weekend!

by on Oct.03, 2008, under Shows

Yeah it’s Friday again, the weekend is so close I can taste it.  It’s gonna be a good weekend in Melbourne, lots of pleasant spring weather… and a Nitidus rock show to cap it off.

In case you hadn’t heard, Nitidus are heading to The Espy this Sunday for Con Batz’s Rock in the City along with our friends Exile, Crimson Face and other talented Melbourne bands. You’re in for a treat, but don’t come expecting a regular Nitidus show. We’re gonna shake things up a bit on Sunday just for fun, because fun is what it’s all about.

Once again, Adam will step up to the mic as he did so well at the Ding Dong.  We’ve also got a special guest joining us on stage too.  We had a rehearsal with our guest earlier this week and it was sounding pretty sweet, so we’re very excited to see what happens on the night.

PC couldn’t make it back from New Zealand for the show this time, but if you would like to see PC back on stage with Marki, Adam and Doctor K, then head on over to the shop and buy some sweet Nitidus swag. All proceeds go towards the “Fly PC’s ass to Melbourne” fund.

Hope to see you on Sunday.  We’ll be there from 6pm, come and join us for a drink before the show.

Don’t forget to let your friends know (it’s easy, just use the buttons below).
